Friends and Neighbors,

There is growing unrest about some of the decisions being made and trends taking place in our government. Voters are looking for candidates who will lead the country in new and creative directions—officeholders who aren’t afraid to cross political boundaries in order to do the right thing.That sentiment is at the heart of my campaign, and is why I felt morally compelled to enter this race. Our problems are too complex for knee-jerk, ideological voting patterns. 

In my two terms in the Missouri House of Representatives I have built a record of success particularly in health-care, education and budgetary issues, despite being in the minority party. My initiatives have led to bills and other reforms to provide access to online driver’s education, to enhance the use of health care technology by lowering costs and improving access, to ensure greater safety in the transport of radioactive waste, to improve children’s mental health programs, and to benefit victims of sexual assault. 

For many Americans, including a growing number of middle- and working-class households, getting ahead is becoming more and more elusive. These families are our nation’s backbone. For the sake of our future, we can’t afford to keep putting barriers between them and the success they are working hard to achieve.

I am asking you to join me in bringing accountability to government and dedicated service to our district in the Congressional 9th. I am raising money to run for the congressional seat and need your help. 

I am encouraged by the response from citizens, donors and voters all across the 9th congressional district. We should not pass up this opportunity to let our voices be heard. With your help, I’m going to seize that opportunity and give the people of 9th district the kind of leadership we deserve.
